Tucker Carlson’s interview with Catherine Austin Fitts is truly fascinating. It is amazing in the breadth of topics covered and in the information it provides to the general public, from missing government money to the push toward a cashless economy.

Fitts has had an exceptional career. From serving as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H.W. Bush, to starting her own investment brokerage firm and managing a five-hundred-billion-dollar investment portfolio, she is an internationally recognized investment banker.

Who Is Catherine Austin Fitts?

Fitts served at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the first Bush administration. After leaving government, she founded Hamilton Securities, the investment brokerage firm that in 1993 won a HUD contract to manage its five-hundred-billion-dollar portfolio.

Today she is the president of Solari, Inc., which publishes The Solari Report.

The Missing Trillions

After years of research, Fitts has raised significant questions about the government’s handling of money. Working with economist Mark Skidmore, she examined undocumented adjustments in the financial records of the Department of Defense and HUD covering fiscal years 1998 through 2015.

She claims that over twenty-one trillion dollars is unaccounted for and has been siphoned off by various agencies to fund international operations, both military and non-military, “off the books.” She also claims these actions are detrimental to the well-being of the public.

The Push Toward a Cashless Economy

One key area of the interview is her concern about the push by governments toward the elimination of a cash economy.

Such a move will all but eliminate the mobility and freedom we have today, as it will be easy for any government to simply freeze anyone out of the economy. Fitts has long warned about central bank digital currencies and argues for keeping cash.

The Lesson of Canada’s Truckers

Think back to the action by the Canadian government during the truckers’ protests, known as the Freedom Convoy, during Covid. In February 2022, the government invoked the

Emergencies Act, which gave banks the authority to freeze the accounts of people involved in the protests.

By the “flip of a switch,” the Canadian government made sure the protesting truckers lost access to their funds in banks and the use of their credit cards. They could not get gas, purchase food, and so on.

That is the end result of the elimination of a cash economy.

Why Tucker Carlson Let Fitts Do the Talking

In this case, Mr. Carlson wisely allows Fitts to do the overwhelming majority of the talking, as he is clearly dealing with an individual who is his superior intellectually.
